Oleg Kashin has been suspected of “LGBT propaganda” over an anime meme

Roskomnadzor has identified “propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations” in a Telegram post by journalist Oleg Kashin. This was reported by “Ostorozhno, Novosti.”

The agency’s concerns were prompted by a meme posted on 17 July featuring a clip from the anime “The Stranger by the Shore.” In the video, one of the characters says to his partner: “Mio, will you come into me?,” to which the other replies: “No, I won’t last that long.” A segment of a livestream showing Kashin’s reaction is overlayed on the video.

“Idiots,” the journalist commented in response to Roskomnadzor’s notification.

A report is being planned against Kashin under part 4 of Article 6.21 of the Code of Administrative Offences for “propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations” online. He has been summoned to the Roskomnadzor office in Kaliningrad, a city in Russia’s western exclave, on 5 October.
