A student of the Justice Ministry Academy has been fined for wearing blue-and-yellow bracelets

In Moscow, a 20-year-old student of the Russian Law Academy of the Justice Ministry has been fined under the article on “discrediting” the army (Article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code) because of her blue and yellow bracelets, reports ‘Ostorozhno, Novosti.’

On 27 August, a woman named Olesya was detained in the metro. The security forces considered the bracelets on her wrist to be “Ukrainian symbols,” took her to the police station, confiscated the jewellery and demanded she write a statement of explanation.

Three weeks later, a protocol was drawn up against Olesya. The police decided that with the bracelets she “expressed a negative attitude towards the special military operation.” In court, the student pleaded guilty and was fined 30,000 rubles (approximately US$330).

Previously, the student had participated in rallies supporting the annexation of Crimea to Russia and in volunteer actions: her photo, in particular, is displayed on the stand about national projects in Oryol region, a region south of Moscow.
