The organiser of the ‘For Fair Elections! ’ picket has gone missing after receiving a call from the police, reports RusNews, citing the initiative group of Yekaterina Duntsova.
According to the group, the man received a call from the police, supposedly to serve him with a warning notice. He then reported that he was being taken to the station. After that, he stopped responding to messages. It has now been about three hours and no one knows the whereabouts of the picket organiser.
Earlier, the administration of Khabarovsk, a major city in Russia’s Far East, had given preliminary approval to the ‘Rassvet’ party’s picket, but suggested moving it to another location—in the park near the Naval Officers’ House, on the edge of the city. The party agreed to the change.
11:41 The activist was released from the police station after being handed a warning about the inadmissibility of unlawful actions, said a representative of the Khabarovsk branch of Rassvet to 7×7. It is still unknown exactly what the document says.
2 October, 13:33 The organiser of the picket cancelled the event, citing personal reasons.
This story has been updated following the activist’s decision.
