Stanislav Morozov, an activist from Penza, a city in western Russia, has been released after serving 14 days of administrative detention under the petty hooliganism article (Part 1, Article 20.1 of the Administrative Offences Code), reports RusNews.
According to Morozov, the authorities were searching for him based on a lookout notice, even though he had not received any summons or phone calls before being detained. For the first two days, the activist was held in a cold cell, wearing only a T-shirt, shorts and slippers, and was not allowed to contact either a lawyer or his family.
Morozov also said that police accepted a parcel for him containing 30 litres of water. Due to an established limit, he was not able to receive any other belongings or food after that.
Morozov’s phone was seized without proper documentation. The activist claims the security forces wanted to send the device for examination, but he refused to provide the unlock code.
Earlier, Morozov had published a video showing himself voting in the street: he marked all the candidates, wrote “Putin is a dickhead” on one ballot, and on another crossed out “United Russia” and added: “Goes fuck off straight away.” After posting the video, he was arrested.
Before this, the blogger had reported on cases of residents of the Penza region being pressured into signing contracts with the Ministry of Defence.
