Officers from the Belarusian KGB beat Yevgenia, the mother of Nadezhda Rossinskaya (Nadin Geisler), a volunteer from the “Army of Beauties” who was sentenced to 22 years, reports Novaya Gazeta Europe. The woman also told the publication that the security forces threatened to kill her and her husband.
At the end of 2025, the Rossinskaya family left Belgorod region for Belarus after relatives were no longer allowed to visit the volunteer in detention. The family had relatives in Belarus, and the couple settled in an old house in a village, which they had inherited from their family.
On 24 June, KGB officers came to the couple after the Belgorod FSB made an inquiry. According to Yevgenia, her husband was restrained, forced face down onto the ground, and handcuffed. One of the security officers, as the woman recounts, pointed a gun at her forehead, another twisted her arm behind her back and forced her to the floor. Then, Yevgenia said, they stepped on her head and pressed down with their full weight.
The woman also said that her husband was punched in the stomach when he asked on what grounds they were being detained. According to her, the security forces constantly shouted: “We are the KGB, we’ll shoot you!” The couple were taken to the KGB and separately interrogated with a lie detector. They were questioned about Nadezhda Rossinskaya, acquaintances from Ukraine, and possible links to the Ukrainian security services.
A month later, the family was summoned to the migration service. There, according to Yevgenia, she again encountered the KGB officer who had stepped on her head. Later, the couple were ordered to leave Belarus as a “preventive measure” to avoid unrest. The family currently lives in Armenia.
- Nadezhda Rossinskaya, also known as Nadin Geisler, helped Ukrainian refugees and organised the volunteer movement “Army of Beauties.” In June 2025, she was sentenced to 22 years in prison on charges of treason, assisting terrorist activity and public calls for activities against the security of Russia.
- In July, it became known that Rossinskaya spent 15 days in a punishment cell. In a letter, she wrote that her health sharply deteriorated there: she asked to have her heart, head and blood vessels examined, and also complained of toothache. Furthermore, since 22 June she had not received any letters and had not seen a lawyer. At the end of August, the volunteer was transferred to stricter detention conditions. The reason for the harsher regime is unknown.
