On May 24, 2013, she was taken into custody and charged with espionage. On November 14, 2014, she was sentenced to six years' imprisonment in a general regime penal colony. On March 24, 2015, the court of second instance left the sentence unchanged. The relevant ruling was drawn up and signed by the judges the day before.
In June 2016, she was released together with other Georgian citizens convicted of espionage.
