Academic Research Center at Bremen University, founded in 1982 by Wolfgang Eichweide. Studies the culture and society of Central and Eastern European countries; maintains the largest archive of samizdat in the West—over 150,000 documents, approximately 600 personal collections, including papers of Lev Kopelev, Yuri Trifonov, Boris Groys, Dmitry Prigov, and manuscripts by Brodsky and Solzhenitsyn.
