Journalist and writer. From 1990 to 2005, he worked at the weekly newspaper "Moskovskiye Novosti," progressing from columnist to deputy editor-in-chief; in 2001–2002, he headed the satirical magazine "Samizdat"; from 2008, he collaborated with Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty as a press commentator and website editor. Author of novellas and novels, including "Sequence of Events," "The Prewar Book," and "The Deal."
Disseminated false information about decisions made by the public authorities of the Russian Federation and the policies they pursued. He participated in distributing communications and materials of foreign agents to an unlimited circle of persons, and also took part in creating communications and materials of an organization included in the registry of foreign agents and the list of foreign and international organizations whose activities are recognized as undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation.
