Biography
Alexei Hamadeev, along with three other residents of Bashkiria, was charged with participation in the activities of the organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami (Party of Islamic Liberation), which was recognised as a terrorist organisation in 2003 at a closed session of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, as well as with "preparation for actions aimed at violent seizure of power, as well as forcible change of the constitutional order". According to the FSB, in 2011-2012, the accused created a regional subdivision of the banned organisation in Bashkiria and were engaged in recruiting supporters and organising pickets, rallies and conferences to
Alexei Hamadeev, along with three other residents of Bashkiria, was charged with participation in the activities of the organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami (Party of Islamic Liberation), which was recognised as a terrorist organisation in 2003 at a closed session of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, as well as with "preparation for actions aimed at violent seizure of power, as well as forcible change of the constitutional order". According to the FSB, in 2011-2012, the accused created a regional subdivision of the banned organisation in Bashkiria and were engaged in recruiting supporters and organising pickets, rallies and conferences to promote the ideas of their organisation, as well as distributing propaganda materials with calls "to overthrow and change the socio-political order by armed means". In April 2015, he was sentenced to 6 years in a strict regime colony. He was released in April 2019.
Previously, Khamadeev was already criminally prosecuted under part 2 of article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
