Biography
A journalist, worked for the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper for 17 years. In 2015, being opposed to the annexation of Crimea and the actions of the Russian authorities in eastern Ukraine, as well as being in disagreement with the editorial policy of MK, he resigned and moved to Kiev, where he obtained Ukrainian citizenship. He works as a deputy general director of the Crimean Tatar TV channel ATR, based in Kiev. In 2019, a criminal case on calls for terrorism was opened against Muzhdabaev over posts in which he suggested "forcefully grabbing Russian agents" and exchanging them for Ukrainian film director Oleg

In June 2020, the journalist was declared wanted and arrested in absentia. On 20 September 2023, Muzhdabaev was sentenced to six years in absentia.
