On 23 April 2019, detained on suspicion of involvement in the attack on police officers during a rally against the transfer of land to Chechnya on 27 March in Magas. Sent to a pre-trial detention centre in Nalchik.
On 18 February 2020, he was sentenced to a year and nine months in a penal colony. On 23 April, the appeal court replaced the settlement colony with a general regime penal colony. On 22 July, he was released.
