Nevzorov was charged with publishing "fakes" about the Armed Forces while he was abroad. He was put on a wanted list and arrested in absentia. Interpol refused to fulfil Russia's request for Nevzorov's extradition. On February 1, 2023, he was sentenced in absentia to eight years in prison. In April 2024, a case was brought against Nevzorov for evading his obligations as a "foreign agent". On July 2, 2024 Nevzorov and his wife Lidia were declared to be an extremist association, and their property was confiscated. In December 2024, it became known that the house and land plot belonging to Nevzorov's mother-in-law were handed over to the state. In May 2025, cases were brought against Nevzorov and his wife for financing extremist activities due to their collecting donations.
