On the 12th of June 2018, he was detained following a search, and on the 14th of June, he was taken into custody on charges of organizing activities for an extremist organization. He was released on the 20th of May 2019, with a preventive measure in the form of a prohibition on certain actions.
Then, on the 20th of September, he received a sentence of three and a half years in a general regime penal colony.
On the 6th of February 2020, he was assaulted in the colony and subsequently placed in SHIZO (punitive isolation) on allegations of smoking, despite Budenchuk
