A student at the Department of Contemporary Art at the HSE School of Design. On 27 July 2023, she was detained and placed under house arrest as part of a case concerning alleged participation in an extremist organisation. TV propagandist Vladimir Solovyov claimed that Olekhnovich and her fellow student, Ivan Trofimov, were activists with ‘Navalny’s underground headquarters’ and were ‘helping the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK)’.
In August 2023, the decision to place Olekhnovich under house arrest was overturned and she was taken into custody.
It was later reported that the charge had been reclassified from participating in the activities of an extremist organisation

On 14 March 2024, Olekhnovich was sentenced to three and a half years in a general-regime penal colony.
In December 2025, it became known that Olekhnovich had been released from the colony.
