Artur Tekilov
Biography
Moscow resident. Late in the evening of 26 November 2013, was detained together with twelve other people during a raid on the hostel where he was living at the time. Accused of preparing a terrorist attack in the "Kirghizia" movie theater.
Human rights activists believe that there is no convincing evidence of his involvement in the crime; in their opinion, the persecution was part of an anti-Muslim campaign.
On 22 April 2016, he was sentenced to eleven years in a high security prison. Supposedly, he was released in November 2024.
