Biography
Azamjon was detained on 6 April 2017.One of the detainees, who was charged in the same case, said that he saw Makhmudov beaten. Azamjon was taken into custody on charges of involvement in the terrorist attack in the St. Petersburg metro on 3 April 2017, as human rights activists believe, without good reason. At first Azamjon was kept in a St. Petersburg detention center, then he was transferred to Moscow, and in April 2019 Azamjon, like the other defendants, was taken to St. Petersburg.
On 10 December 2019, he was sentenced to 20 years in a strict regime colony. On
