The IC reported that the comment expressed a negative attitude toward the war in Ukraine, as well as symbols and days of military glory of Russia, and memorial dates of the Great Patriotic War. The regional prosecutor's office specified that the man made a contemptuous remark about the memorials of the Piskaryovskoye Memorial Cemetery and the celebration of Victory Day and the day of lifting the siege of Leningrad.
On 2 September 2025, the court sentenced Kalashnikov to eight months in a penal colony.
