On 10 November 2020, a case was opened against Merinkov for organising extremist activities. A recognisance not to leave was given. On 20 January 2022, the court returned the case to the prosecutor's office. On 17 December 2024, following a retrial, Merinkov was sentenced to a fine, details are unknown.
