On 17 June 2024 it became known that Fomina was declared wanted. On the same day she was arrested in absentia in the case of spreading deliberately false information about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The reason was the interview with Frolkin. On 31 March 2025, Fomina was sentenced in absentia to eight and a half years.
