On 20 April 2018, Mikhailova and her husband had their house searched. On 29 May, she was detained in a case of extremist organisation activities, and then released. On 22 June, she signed a recognizance not to leave. On 16 September 2021, the court returned the case to the prosecutor's office. On 29 January 2024, Mikhailova was sentenced to a fine of 560 thousand rubles.
