Nikolaenkova was detained and sent to custody the next day. At the hearing for the selection of a preventive measure, Nikolaenkova said that her uncle and aunt, who live in Rivne, Ukraine, gave her the money for the down payment to buy an apartment, and that she felt enormous shame and guilt because her relatives were being "bombed" while she had a Russian passport. She also said that her grandson had survived two heart surgeries, had to take constant medication, and might not live to see her release. The judge commented that Nikolayenkova should have "prayed" instead of writing a comment in support of the Russian Volunteer Corps, for which she is charged. On 13 January 2025, Nikolaenkova was sentenced to a fine of 60,000 rubles.
