Eskender Suleimanov

On 10 June 2019, he was detained and taken into custody the same day on charges of participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation due to his alleged involvement in the Islamist party Hizb ut-Tahrir, which has no connection to terrorism. Later Suleimanov was also accused of preparing for a violent seizure of power. On 18 March 2022, he was sentenced to 15 years in a strict regime colony.
