Eugene Mishchenko

A resident of Moscow, a regular participant of protest actions, volunteer of "Nemtsov Bridge". On September 11th Mishchenko was detained on the bridge. On September 13th, an ambulance was called to the Babushkinsky District Court, where a hearing to elect a preventive measure for the activist was held. Doctors found Mishchenko had fractures, and the man said that he had been beaten by law enforcers. A case was opened against him for participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation: according to the investigation, he had joined the "Freedom of Russia" legion. Mishchenko claimed that he had confessed because he had been beaten and that he had been provoked into a number of statements and actions by an infiltrated agent. On October 9th 2024, he was sentenced to 12 years in a strict regime colony.
