On 11 November 2011, Domozhirov was accused of pushing and kicking an employee of the Centre for Countering Extremism, Roman Kopylov, in the groin and pulling the shirt collar of policeman Konstantin Lebedev during the dispersal of the Strategy-31 rally. On 17 September 2012, he was sentenced to a fine of 120 thousand rubles. After the sentence came into legal force Domojirov was stripped of his mandate as a deputy of the regional legislative assembly.
On 30 July 2016, late at night, a group of law enforcement officers came to Domojirov's house and tried to conduct a search there. The politician's elderly mother blocked their way, demanding to show the necessary documents, but the police officers tried to force their way in; as a result, Domojirov's mother injured her arm. The Domojirovs appealed to the district police officer, who promised to come and examine the bruises on the woman's arm, but never came. On August 9, the investigator for especially important cases of the first department for investigation of especially important cases of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Vologda region initiated a criminal case against Galina Domozhirova under Article 319 of the Criminal Code: according to the investigator, Domozhirova during an unsuccessful search attempt "deliberately with the purpose of insulting" the police officers "began to publicly express profanity" in their address, "insulting them as representatives of the authorities and humiliating their honour and dignity". Later it became known about the initiation of proceedings against Domojirov himself - according to the investigation, in late July 2016, he "deliberately, in response to the lawful and reasonable demands of a police officer to conduct investigative actions, publicly, expressing coarse profanity, insulted this representative of authority, humiliating his honour and dignity. In addition, in August this year Domojirov posted in the information and communication network "Internet" text and comments to it, containing phrases that humiliate human dignity on the grounds of belonging of persons to a certain social group". On 17 November 2017, Domojirov was acquitted under the articles on libel and humiliation of a social group, and sentenced to 60 hours of compulsory labour under the article on insult.
In 2020, a case was again brought against the journalist under the article on insulting representatives of the authorities because of a video on his YouTube channel. In the video, the man criticised the actions of local officials who had decided to develop a city square. In February 2021, the case was dismissed - the court found no signs of crime in the statements of the activist. Earlier, Domozhirov was detained, arrested and fined for monitoring the same construction site and highlighting the situation.
In October 2022, it was reported that Domojirov was put on a wanted list, but then the Investigative Committee denied this information. However, Domozhirov published a certificate of criminal record, which states that he has been wanted since 6 May in a case of a traffic offence causing serious harm to a person's health.
On 1 December 2022, a case was opened against Domojirov for spreading deliberately false information about the Russian Armed Forces.
