On 5 October 2021 he was detained after a search, on 7 October taken into custody on charges of organising activities of an extremist organisation, namely the Nurcular movement, which, according to experts, does not actually exist on the territory of the Russian Federation. On 27 June 2023, he was sentenced to six and a half years in a general regime colony.
