Detained in relation to a peaceful protest by Greenpeace activists. In September 2013, the activists sailed on the Arctic Sunrise ship to the Prirazlomnaya oil production platform in the Pechora Sea to protest against the development of oil and gas reserves on the Arctic shelf; the ship was forcibly stopped and all those on board were detained. Charged with piracy, the charge was later reclassified to vandalism. Detained since September 2013, and released on bail in November 2013. Granted amnesty in December 2013
