Biography
He lived in Tyumen and served as a contract soldier in the war. In May 2023, he took leave and informed his mother that he would not return to the front. Kasimov left for Kazakhstan. On 23 April 2024, he was detained in Astana at the factory where he worked. He was then taken to the Kazakh town of Priozersk, home to a Russian military unit and the 496th Military Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee. From there, he was transferred to Omsk.

On 13 August 2024, he was sentenced to six years in a strict-regime penal colony on charges of desertion, with the Priozersk-based court issuing the sentence while he was in Omsk.
