On 30 May 2018, he was detained following a search. On 1 June, he was arrested on charges of organising the activities of an extremist organisation. On 3 August, he was transferred under house arrest. Later he was released on his own recognisance. On 6 March 2024, he was sentenced to seven years suspended.
