On 1 June 2019, Marat was detained after a search and on 3 June taken into custody by the court order on the case of organising activities of an extremist organisation. On 30 April 2020, a charge of financing extremist activities was added. On 27 May transferred to house arrest. On 25 November 2022 sentenced to six and a half years suspended sentence.
