In 2020, an administrative case was brought against Nikitin for insulting the authorities for a Facebook post, but the case was dismissed due to missing the deadline for bringing the case. He also participated in actions against the construction of a temple on the embankment of the city pond and in the square near the Tetra Drama 2017-2018 on the embankment of the City Pond and in the square near the Drama Theatre. In November 2022, a case of committing a terrorist act was opened against the activist because of the attempted arson of the military recruitment centre. On 5 December 2023, Nikitin was sentenced to six years in a strict regime colony.
