Mubarakzyan Vafin

Detained and arrested in October 2016 alongside eight other people on charges of participation in the activities of an extremist organisation, his home was searched. Vafin admitted involvement in "Tablighi Jamaat", but refused to admit that he participated in the activities of an extremist organisation. On 20th of April 2017, he was sentenced to two and a half years in a penal colony. On 26th of September, the court of appeal reduced the sentence to two years and two months. He was released in October 2018.
