Resident of Moscow. In June 2020, detained after a search as part of a criminal case on the activities of an extremist organisation in connection with involvement in the activities of the peaceful Islamic movement Tablighi Jamaat. On 16 June, sent to detention by court order. On 31 August 2021, Asiev was sentenced to three and a half years in a general regime colony. On 14 February 2023, he was released.
