On 31 March it became known that she is a suspect in the case of participation in an extremist community, initiated against Aleksei Navalny and his supporters. She has given a written pledge not to leave the country. On 8 April it was reported that Shkolina was charged with participation in an extremist community and in a non-profit organisation that infringes on the personality and rights of citizens.
