Biography
Rasim Satayev, along with three other residents of Bashkiria, was charged with participation in the activities of the organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami (Islamic Liberation Party), which was declared a terrorist organisation in 2003 at a closed session of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, as well as with "preparation for actions aimed at forcible seizure of power, as well as forcible change of the constitutional order". According to the FSB, in 2011-2012 he created a regional subdivision of the banned organisation in Bashkiria and was engaged in the recruitment of supporters and organisation of pickets, meetings and conferences to
Rasim Satayev, along with three other residents of Bashkiria, was charged with participation in the activities of the organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami (Islamic Liberation Party), which was declared a terrorist organisation in 2003 at a closed session of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, as well as with "preparation for actions aimed at forcible seizure of power, as well as forcible change of the constitutional order". According to the FSB, in 2011-2012 he created a regional subdivision of the banned organisation in Bashkiria and was engaged in the recruitment of supporters and organisation of pickets, meetings and conferences to promote the ideas of his organisation, as well as distribution of propaganda materials with calls "to overthrow and change the socio-political order by armed means"; earlier he was already criminally prosecuted under part 2 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code. In the "Ufa case", he was kept in custody since August 2013. In April 2015, he was sentenced to 6.5 years in a strict regime colony.
He was released in September 2019.
