A resident of Voronezh region, Baev's house was searched on 13 July 2020, after which he was detained. Later, the court decided to take him into custody on the case of organising the activities of an extremist organisation. Then transferred to house arrest. On 2 December, a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions was elected.
On 21 November 2025, the court sentenced him to six years of suspended imprisonment.
