On 27 February 2019, he detained after a search and the next day taken into custody by court order on charges of organising and participating in the activities of an extremist organisation. In April 2019, he transferred to house arrest. Later, a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions was chosen.
On 8 October 2020, he sentenced to four years' suspended sentence. On 29 January 2021, the appeal court commuted the sentence to four and a half years suspended sentence and 10 months of restriction of freedom, leaving only organising activities in the charge.
