On 8 June 2021, Sushilnikov's home was searched and his wife was subjected to violence. A case of organising activities of an extremist organisation was opened. On 8 February 2022, Sushilnikov signed a travel restriction agreement. On 24 January 2023, Sushilnikov was sentenced to six years' suspended sentence.
