Victoria Tkachenko, a resident of the Luhansk Region of Ukraine, served from 2017 to 2020 in the former Ukrainian battalion Aidar, which was later re-formed into the 24th Separate Assault Battalion as part of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. She was taken into custody in 2022, following the occupation of the region by Russian forces, and charged with participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation.
On 21 December 2023, Victoria was sentenced to five years in a penal settlement. However, on 13 September 2024, she was returned to Ukraine as part of
