A resident of Kharkiv, a lawyer. In February 2022, the propaganda TV channel RT named him as the administrator of the "SVR General" Telegram channel. At that time, political scientist Valery Solovei's place was searched in Moscow as part of a case of incitement to hatred related to publications in this channel. Ermolaev denied any connection with the Telegram channel, saying that someone had used his data as a result of "careless use of the Internet" on his part. On 25 March 2026, he was sentenced in absentia to ten years' imprisonment.
