On 27 March 2016, Vladimir Khagdaev, the administrator of a group on the social network VKontakte dedicated to the ideas of pan-Mongolism - the doctrine of the unity of Mongols and the revival of their culture and customs - was prosecuted for calls to violate the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation. The reason for the case was Khagdaev's post about the possibility of Buryatia's secession from Russia. During the search two bags with drugs were found and a case of illegal possession of drugs was opened.
