Vyacheslav Shatrovsky is a resident of the town of Sharya (Kostroma region), a father of three children. On 5 November 2017, when Vyacheslav Maltsev's supporters took to the streets in Moscow, he and his companion came to Novopushkinsky Square to hand his son a bag. They were approached by police officers, who began to check the men's documents and belongings.

As a result, Shatrovsky and his son were taken to the Tverskaya police station. During the detention, the policeman used a painful technique on the man, throwing him over his shoulder. Shatrovsky Sr. received an open head injury and multiple bruises to the soft tissues of the head.

At the police station Shatrovsky was accused of using violence against a representative of authority (Article 318 of the Criminal Code). On 9 November, the Tverskoy district court arrested him for two months, later his detention was extended until 5 April 2018. On 22 March, Shatrovsky's case came to the Tverskoy District Court.

On 24 May, the Tverskoy District Court sentenced Shatrovsky to three years in a general regime colony.

At the end of June, Shatrovsky was taken from the pre-trial detention centre to a colony in Kirov region, despite the fact that the appeal against the court decision had not yet been considered. That is, the man was sent to the colony even before the decision came into force.

On 20 September 2018, the appeal court reduced Shatrovsky's sentence to two years and nine months.

On 28 February 2020, he was released.
