Russian “undesirable organizations” list: who is on it

Switch Language

Since 2015, Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office has been declaring foreign and international organizations “undesirable” without a court decision, targeting those the authorities dislike: independent media, human rights groups, foundations, universities. Any connection with them is punishable, even a repost, a donation or an interview. A first offence brings a fine, and a repeat offence brings criminal charges and up to six years in prison. More about “undesirable organizations”.

This page shows every organization ever declared “undesirable” and how the list changes over time. It also shows people prosecuted for involvement with these organizations, with what is known about their cases from OVD-Info’s database of politically motivated prosecutions. The page is updated automatically every day.
