The case of Sergey Komandirov

In Smolensk, a city in western Russia, blogger Sergey Komandirov was taken into custody in October 2021 on charges of justifying terrorism. The reason was his post in which he published the video “Judge Graham,” featuring a mock trial of Putin, Peskov and Sechin.

At the end of March 2022, it became known that Komandirov was also being charged with the rehabilitation of Nazism, inciting hatred, and insulting a public official. Additionally, reports emerged that aside from reposting the video, the case includes two more episodes of justifying terrorism. All the charges are based on Komandirov’s social media posts.

On 28 July, Komandirov was sentenced to six years in a general regime penal colony.
