On 28 July 2020, Poltoradnev was arrested at his house, detained, and sent under house arrest on 31 July on charges of organizing activities of an extremist organization. On 24 September a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions was elected. On 18 August 2023, he was sentenced to a fine of 638 thousand rubles.
